The Best Advice I Ever Got Was From A Middle School Principal
My middle school principal’s words still guide my decisions to this day.
“Make it a great day, or not, the choice is yours.”
That’s why when I was uninspired by my high school curriculum, I chose to find a pre-college art program.
I chose to finish up early a few months later when I realized I could graduate early.
I chose to go to college, but when I finished — I wondered when I had even chosen it.
Instead of looking at the decision as a waste of time, I decided to honor the experience and became eager for the next.
I focused once again on making choices based on my values and passions, so I searched for experiences to create an education I wanted.
I have not found better advice than simply choosing to make each day great. Don’t settle for mediocre if you want more.
